Neurofilament article in JAMA Neurology

A report from the TTM1 biobank on the use of neurofilament light chain (NFL) was published online today. The findings from this study suggest that the serum NFL level is a highly predictive marker of long-term poor neurologic outcome at 24 hours after cardiac arrest and may be a useful complement to currently available neurologic prognostication methods.

In the paper, written by Marion Moseby Knappe and co-workers from the TTM collaboration, NFL was compared to NSE (which is currently the only biomarker recommended by guidelines).
